And the (dare I say) magnificent homemade Fleece Advent project is complete!

In which I made myself a Fleece Advent and spun it all up as singles yarn, on supported spindles.

This post is being typed very hastily at 10:30pm, but part of my goal for this blog is that I don’t pressure myself to only hit “publish” when a piece is perfect or to time posts for maximum engagement. Consider this your bedtime reading, perhaps? I hope you, like me, enjoy going down fibrecraft rabbit…

    From hand to hand

    1. In August, I met up with a stranger at a parking lot in Nowra (NSW). We opened the boots of our cars, and an eight-harness table loom went from her boot to mine, along with a warping board and three photographs of the last project she wove on the loom which she had printed…

Last December, in my Fleece Advent, the skein of singles yarn from a Bond fleece sample came out from the wash very wavy and I was stumped. And then, a WHOLE THREE MONTHS later, I was browsing through an older @plymagazine article and there was my answer 🀯 πŸŒ€πŸŒ€πŸŒ€ In honour of #SpindleBingo2026 wrapping up, I thought I should share some clips of me spinning some very fine singles, from hand-processed fibre. Been chuggin' along for #SpindleBingo2026 and #JauntySAL, trains planes and automobiles-style πŸŒ€πŸŒ€πŸŒ€ Note to self: do not try to do a centre pull ball with Gotland singles ever again // Took me two months off and on, but I can finally check off the spinning portion of my #JauntySAL project (hosted by @dreareneeknits) πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘πŸ§΅ Today's #SpindleBingo2026 square is πŸŒ€spinning mathπŸŒ€. This is what I've been spinning on my teensy cross-armed spindle the past week, just on my commute.
